Online Therapy in Tennessee
Nearly 26 years of walking alongside people through the hardest parts of life. That’s what I bring to every session.
Hello, I’m April Hibdon, LCSW, DARTT — and I’m really glad you found your way here.
I know reaching out for help isn’t easy. For a lot of people, it takes a long time to get to this page. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know: this is a safe place, and you don’t have to have it all figured out before we talk.
I’ve been a licensed clinical social worker for nearly 26 years — and in that time, I’ve worked with people across many settings and many chapters of life. What has stayed constant is my belief that healing isn’t about being fixed. It’s about being truly seen, understood, and supported as you find your own way forward.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and the lasting effects of trauma. My approach is individualized — because no two people experience pain the same way, and no single method works for everyone. We start exactly where you are.
Training and Specializations
Over the years, I’ve invested deeply in trauma-informed training so I can offer more than traditional talk therapy:
DARTT Certified
Developmental and Relational Trauma Therapy Assessment
Experiential Therapy
approaches that engage the whole person, not just the thinking mind (advanced training continuing Fall 2026 and Spring 2027)
HOCI: Level 2
Healing Our Core Issues; an integration model for working with developmental and relational trauma, drawing on neuroscience, attachment theory, mindfulness, and body-based approaches
Trauma Informed Yoga: Level 1
somatic practices that support nervous system regulation and trauma release
IFS: Level 1
Internal Family Systems, a powerful approach to understanding the different “parts” of ourselves
Education
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
A Little About Me
Outside of the therapy room, I’m married to my best friend, and we have a son we are incredibly proud of. We love taking rides in our side-by-side, drives through the mountains, time by the pool, and the simple joy of relaxing at home — watching our chickens do their thing and our dogs make themselves comfortable wherever they please.
On my own, you’ll find me reading, learning something new, or enjoying a good movie. I think rest and curiosity are underrated, and I try to practice both.
My own journey has taught me what it means to trust a process when you can’t yet see the destination. That lived experience shapes the way I show up for you — with patience, without judgment, and with genuine belief that things can be different.
Your first 15-minute consult is free — no pressure, just a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
